It's real, it's coming, and I could not be more excited to finally show you this couple and this colorful Gulf Coast town.

Picture Not So Perfect is the first book in my new small-town Gulf Coast series, Heron Key — and if you like your romance funny on top, steamy in the middle, and secretly right in the feels, pull up a chair. Here's what it's about.

Billie Beckett paints murals for a living, which means she's always just passing through — bags packed, van pointed at the next town, gone before anyone can miss her. That's the deal she made with herself a long time ago: you keep moving and no one can move on you.

Then a commission in a quirky and gloriously colorful little Gulf Coast town strands her across a scaffold from Jesse Vance — a grumpy widowed charter captain, a devoted single dad, and the most infuriatingly good-looking wall of a man ever to fish her out of the channel and then look at her like a stain he can't get off his dock. She's got a mural to finish and a hard out in a few weeks. He's got a daughter, a boat, and four years of very good reasons to keep his walls exactly where they are.

She came to paint a bird on a wall and leave. Staying was never the plan. Neither was he.
